Kaylee Burk is Aiming Her Arrow Towards the Future
Dynamic Marketing Acquisitions’ brightest Account Executive, Kaylee Burk, is changing the game. At just twenty-three, Burk has achieved more than most her age. Born and raised in Pennsylvania, Burk is more than an entrepreneur; she’s also a cat mom! This month, we sat down with Burk to discuss her career, where it started, and where it’s going.
Did you predict that you would end up in sales?
“I graduated in the spring of 2020 with my bachelor’s degree in engineering design, and my associate’s degree is in applied technologies, so I was initially searching for an engineering position. Knowing my future goals to be a business owner, I knew I needed sales and management experience. That’s why Dynamic Marketing Acquisitions was such a great fit for me starting in a more professional workplace.”
What did you dream of doing as a kid?
“My dream job in my childhood was to be a marine biologist. Even though that didn’t work out, I still pursue those passions. I like to dive and snorkel, and hopefully will get scuba certified in the future.”
Where did your career start?
“After high school, I went straight to college. I grew as an adult and developed my future goals. Not only was I working towards two degrees, but I was also an athlete. I shot competition archery for Pennsylvania College of Technology. I was VP and President of the athletics committee on campus as well. Those experiences helped me learn to manage my time better and gave me valuable team and leadership experience.”
What do you bring to the table in this career?
“I bring bright and refreshing energy with me to the office every single day. Beyond that, I love to see others succeed and grow. Being able to give someone an opportunity like what has been given to me is huge. I want to bring in sharp people who will provide new ideas and high energy to the team. I am an extremely competitive person; being an athlete played a major role in that for me. I learned that not only did I enjoy the rush of competing against others, but I loved challenging and competing against myself to get better!”
How has your career grown since starting at the company?
“In five months, I have gone from unorganized, shy, and terrified of public speaking to focused, outgoing, and more organized than I ever have been. I am running morning meetings, interviewing, and training new people. I have grown so much in just five months with Dynamic Marketing Acquisitions.”
What are you passionate about?“I am passionate about my relationships in life. Whether it be friends, family, or coworkers, I want to help everyone win. I am passionate about growing myself into a better version every day.”
What is your favorite thing about working in the business industry?
“This was my first real corporate job after college, so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but my favorite part so far has been the opportunity for growth based on how hard you work to get there.”
What motivates you to wake up and go to work?
“Honestly, the environment within Dynamic Marketing Acquisitions makes me excited to work every day. My coworkers are all in this to help each other and motivate each other to be great. Management has created a family culture outside of work as well. Having such a sense of belonging and having fun every day with them makes work feel effortless.”
What business advice would you give to people hoping to start a career?
“Have an open mind. Maintaining a student mentality and taking constructive criticism is so important when starting a career. There is so much to learn, and if they are willing to teach you, you should be willing to absorb it all without hesitation.”
What do you feel is your greatest accomplishment to date?
“My greatest accomplishment so far has been moving away from home and having the courage to start new. Being from Pennsylvania and moving to North Carolina alone was a big step. Time has proven that it was the right decision for me.”
What important lesson has someone close to you taught you?
“My grandmother taught me to treat someone how you would wish to be treated. My father and grandfather instilled in me an incredible sense of work ethic and drive. My current mentor has taught me to push past my limiting beliefs and to be confident in myself.”
What natural disadvantages has life thrown your way?
“Being a female in a mostly male-dominated industry is a huge challenge, but I enjoy proving people wrong. I have fresh ideas and new ways of doing different things. I have experienced older male entrepreneurs resist me and my ideas because I’m a female and because I am young. However, at Dynamic Marketing Acquisitions, that does not apply. They are open to everyone small, big, young, old, male, or female. They push everyone equally to come up with new ideas and to work hard in every way. I am grateful and blessed to work for such a forward-thinking company.”
In the next five years, Kaylee Burk hopes to be a multi-business-owning entrepreneur. “I want to provide people with an opportunity to enjoy work and experience a growth-oriented environment,” says Burk. With an open mind, a tireless drive, and the support from her Dynamic Marketing Acquisitions team, she is sure to achieve everything she’s dreamed of.
